Discover the unique wilderness area of the World Heritage listed rainforests of Cape Tribulation & Mossman Gorge. Our experienced naturalist guide will provide interpretation of this ancient rainforest area and also included is an exclusive, private rainforest walk along all-weather boardwalks, and also at canopy, level where unsurpassable rainforest viewing may be experienced - a naturalist's paradise and photographer's dream!

The NEW Rainforest Aerial Walkway and Canopy Tower allows people of all ages easy access to every part of the rainforest. Up amongst the canopy, observe the diversity of plants and wildlife living in this unique environment.

A sumptuous cold buffet lunch awaits you in the luxurious 'Cape Restaurant and Bar' at Cape Tribulation Resort.

Stroll along idyllic Cape Tribulation Beach to the lookout and observe where two of the world's natural wonders converge - the rainforest gives way to white sand and fringing coral reef!

Cruise the mighty Daintree River spotting for wildlife and saltwater crocodiles, inhabitants of the mangrove-lined riverbanks.

Following afternoon tea we depart the Daintree Valley and return you to your accommodation with wonderful memories of this unique and precious wilderness area.

Tour 5 - Waterfalls, Wildlife and Paronella Park

A spectacular scenic Tablelands tour viewing Lake Barrine, Curtain Fig Tree, Waterfalls Circuit, World Heritage Rainforests and Paronella Park. Wildlife and Platypus spotting. Departing Cairns' coast, our tour ascends the Lamb Range providing panoramic views of the Mulgrave River Valley from Heale's Lookout.

The high elevation rainforests of the Atherton and Southern Tablelands are vastly different to coastal rainforest and support a wide variety of wildlife, many species being unique to the Tablelands. Our naturalist guide will assist in spotting wildlife.

Enjoy freshly baked scones and morning tea before boarding the first morning cruise on the calm waters of the extinct volcanic crater, Lake Barrine. View the Lake's abundant wildlife and marvel at the vibrant, old growth World Heritage listed rainforest surrounding Lake Barrine whose deep waters are filled by crystal clear rainwater. Back on land a short walk reveals the Twin Kauri Pine Trees - amongst Australia's largest trees, these 1000 year old forest giants are relics of the pioneering timber industry.

Travelling through lush dairying areas we pause by a rainforest creek to catch a glimpse of the elusive platypus.

Our guide will escort you along boardwalks to the ancient Giant Curtain Fig Tree - an amazing accomplishment of nature! The surrounding forest is also home to shy Lumholz Tree Kangaroos.

We then commence our tour of the complete Waterfalls Circuit . Each of the 4 waterfalls is unique and is viewed from a different aspect. All 4 waterfalls flow in abundance all year round!

Commencing with world-famous Millaa Millaa Falls (featured in many commercial television advertisements and films) we then drive along quaint country roads to view Zillie and Ellinjaa Falls. Whilst proceeding to Mungalli Falls, our tour travels through rich dairying pastures to Mungalli Creek Dairy which is North Queensland's only certified organic dairy farm producing bio-dynamic dairy products - sample their cheeses and yoghurts. An excellent 2-course lunch is included in the restaurant uniquely situated atop Mungalli Falls, which are the Tableland's tallest falls.

Upon arrival at multi award wining Paronella park you will be escorted by the park's knowledgeable guide on a private, leisurely tour of the National Trust listed Heritage gardens and castle ruins. There is free time to view the museum and the remains of North Queensland's first hydro-electric plant which Jose Paronella built on the beautiful Mena Creek - feed the fish and turtles or take a swim below the falls.

We return to Cairns via the historic coastal town of Innisfail - arriving Cairns approx. 6.15pm.

Kuranda Village Tours

Kuranda Village is a quaint little township in the rainforest, situated where both Skyrail and the Kuranda Scenic Train journeys terminate. Kuranda Village is famous for arts and crafts and indigenous artifacts and the excellent attractions of the Butterfly Sanctuary, Koala Gardens, Birdworld and the Aviary. Passengers travelling with tropical horizons Day Tours may obtain discount entry to these attractions (show your tour sticker, train/railway or Skyrail pass). The original Kuranda markets are held Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Sunday. Heritage Markets open daily.
